10,000 Hz tone
High treble.
Volume first. Turn your device volume down before pressing play, then raise it slowly. Tones start quiet on purpose. High-frequency tones can seem silent and then turn painfully loud when volume goes up. Never raise the volume just because you hear nothing.
What 10,000 Hz is used for
A clear high tone that most people under about 60 still hear. Handy for checking whether a tweeter or earbud is working at all.

Why can't I hear the 10,000 Hz tone?
Check the tab is not muted and the correct output device is selected. 10,000 Hz is well within the range of nearly every speaker and headphone.
