8,000 Hz tone
Upper treble.
Volume first. Turn your device volume down before pressing play, then raise it slowly. Tones start quiet on purpose. High-frequency tones can seem silent and then turn painfully loud when volume goes up. Never raise the volume just because you hear nothing.
What 8,000 Hz is used for
The top frequency of a standard hearing screening and the "air" in cymbals and sibilance. Most adults still hear it comfortably.

Why can't I hear the 8,000 Hz tone?
Check the tab is not muted and the correct output device is selected. 8,000 Hz is well within the range of nearly every speaker and headphone.
